I just went through Think Geek and made myself a wishlist.... So my birthday is in two months and if anyone wanted to be super nice they can check out my wishlist. You should be able to search for it with my email zerocoolphreak72@hotmail.com. heehee. Either way, I'll end up getting a lot of the stuff on my list myself over time.

I realize something... my only hobby is shopping. I need to expand because shopping isn't really a hobby.

I started a wishlist on Amazon.com but after a couple of items I stopped. There's not a whole lot I want and when I do desire something that's under $50 I usually just buy it. I'm able to do so because I buy hardly anything ever but there's so many books I want to read. It just takes a while to finish some of the more extensive ones. While money is limited, time as a resource to spend is even more limited. I need to find a way to get paid to read and do aerobic exercise.

-mat <perhaps a career as a university professor might facilitate that>

I usually just buy them too, but there's so much that I can't get them all at once.

Aren't music and reading your hobbies?
Heather Joneszerocoolphreak on March 22nd, 2006 07:28 pm (UTC)
well, i don't get to read that much and music, I mostly just listen to it in my car and I don't know how to play anything...

Maybe you should buy a guitar and learn to play. =)

yes! I want to learn to play bass!

I wouldn't recommend it unless you plan on being in a band. Bass is slightly easier to learn at first (only playing one or 2 notes at a time) but lacks a TON in the melody, harmony, and creative expression department. If you want to play alone, guitar is a much better choice. If you like to beat on things, drums are a good choice. I get very bored playing bass these days unless I'm jamming with a drummer or a whole band. The 6 string guitar gives you much more freedom of expression through a much wider availability of tonal selection.

In short, bass is only really fun when playing in a band whereas guitar can be very expressive solo.
