I asked my friend Chris Ochs what he thought of the new Weezer cd....

"Well, firstly, I think it's important that you know it will be some time before I can give you a final definitived opinion. BUT.... I have already been listening to it for a few monthes. I managed to get the first eight tracks within six hours of thier having been leaked, and when the rest leaked I got those too. I also bought three copies of the new album, though, because that's how I roll.... BUT...............................

It's damn good. It's an obvious commentary on the record industry today and the elitist aditude of fans and music enthusists today. It feels a bit like Queen to me, because there are songs written and sang by different members of the band, and because they have so much varriation so far as genre goes on one album, but one thing that is missing which is typical of both Queen and of Weezer is athletic guitar soloing. This, I feel, is a move away from rock and roll, and it's saddly absent. If these songs had solos in them, it'd be a lot easier for me to get behind them. I still feel like they have a long way to go before they are as great as they should and can be, but the record remains damn good."

I thought it was a pretty good response, so I wanted to share it's wisdom. That is all... now I am off to Applebees with Stacy and Keith and Tony and then to the Avalon with Nathan and Ryan.
